Omiana offers a carefully curated collection of products formulated with ingredient omissions for those with sensitive skin. We avoid using harsh detergents, synthetic chemicals, chemical preservatives, artificial fragrances, and other potentially harmful substances. While many of our customers use our products during pregnancy or their baby's developmental years, we advise you to consult your healthcare provider about any specific ingredients. Our ingredients list is available in each product listing or on our Ingredient List & Glossary page. 

Omiana crafts its products using gentle ingredients, avoiding detergents, harsh chemicals, and artificial fragrances that can irritate the skin, making them ideal for those with sensitive skin. Many of our customers are young and still developing, while others are expectant mothers concerned about ingredient safety. We encourage you to consult your healthcare provider with any questions or concerns.

Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are common ingredients in mineral makeup, known for their anti-inflammatory properties. Omiana offers products with different combinations of these ingredients: some without titanium dioxide but with zinc oxide, some with titanium dioxide but no zinc oxide, and some without either. Both titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are recognized for their natural sun protection, which is crucial for protecting healing skin. Additionally, minerals provide varying degrees of coverage and soothing effects. However, when it comes to applying products after treatments—whether skincare-focused or for treating a specific condition—we strongly recommend consulting your healthcare provider.

Omiana does NOT test on animals - not our raw ingredients or finished formulas. We're proud to be certified by PETA and Leaping Bunny. Leaping Bunny leads the cruelty-free makeup standard and holds certified companies accountable. PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, has certified Omiana as cruelty-free due to our commitment to preventing animal cruelty and testing.

Omiana uses the highest percentage of Certified Organic ingredients possible. Some ingredients cannot be certified as organic. One example is vitamin E. Vitamin E is not available in an organic form, which is why we pay close attention to its origins, i.e., rice bran, soybean, Tocopheryl acetate, wheat germ (which makes many company's 'tocopherol'/vitamin E non-gluten-free). We also pay equally close attention to non-agricultural products origins, such as minerals that are inorganic by nature. The end result is that our products aim to minimize toxicity, even in cases where the label 'organic' may not apply.

Omiana formulates its products to be gluten-free and does not intentionally use gluten in any of our products. However, please note that some products may be manufactured in facilities where gluten-containing ingredients could be present. We encourage customers with severe gluten sensitivities or celiac disease to consider this when making their purchase decisions. Additionally, most products are vegan, albeit some contain beeswax.

Most Omiana products are vegan; however, a few formulas include beeswax to enhance consistency and breathability. All our products are certified by PETA and Leaping Bunny to be cruelty-free.

No. All minerals and pigments Omiana uses are cosmetic-grade particle size or even high-micron.

At Omiana, we understand that everyone's skin is unique, with different sensitivities, preferences, and needs. While there is no universal formula that is perfect for everyone, we strive to craft an extensive range of products to cater to various needs. Our products are designed to be gentle on sensitive skin, omitting common irritants such as fragrances, parabens, talc, gluten, and more. We offer hypoallergenic-friendly makeup, including options free from coconut oil, titanium dioxide, butters, waxes, mica, boron nitride, among others.

As for non-comedogenic makeup, it's important to note that there are no regulated testing methods that definitively qualify a product as non-comedogenic. Each person's skin reacts differently to various ingredients; what may clog pores for one person could be nourishing for another. At Omiana, we encourage you to explore and find out which ingredients work best for your skin. Remember, even ingredients generally regarded as beneficial can cause reactions in some people. We are here to assist you on your journey to finding the right makeup products for your unique skin.

At Omiana, we recognize that our customers have specific ingredient needs and preferences, particularly those seeking to avoid harsh or potentially toxic substances commonly found in other mineral makeup lines. For instance, if you prefer makeup without mica, we have options available. We also offer products without titanium dioxide for those who avoid it, though we include it in some products for those who value its SPF and coverage benefits. Similarly, we provide zinc oxide-free options. Given that many of our customers are sensitive to soy and wheat, sources of naturally derived vitamin E, we use tocopheryl acetate in some formulas to accommodate these sensitivities.

We understand that no single formula can meet everyone's needs due to individual preferences and skin sensitivities. Our goal is to provide the purest range of formulas for those with sensitive skin and discerning ingredient preferences. You can easily filter products on our website to find collections that meet your specific ingredient criteria. We ensure full transparency by disclosing all ingredients on each product page and our ingredients page.

Omiana does not use artificial fragrance or perfume. Any aromas detected are created merely from the ingredients themselves.

As a small, privately held company, our primary focus has been on expanding our formula and shade range. We aim to pursue additional certifications in the future. Please review the ingredients list for each product. All Omiana ingredients are carefully selected and sourced to minimize the presence of toxic heavy metals. For example, we avoid using talc, an ingredient that can often be contaminated with nickel and heavy metals.

As you know, anyone can be allergic to anything. Even amazing-for-us ingredients can cause reactions in some. Probably you know somebody who is a testament to this fact, someone who is allergic to antioxidant-rich strawberries or omega-loaded nuts. We have heard of people being sensitive to touted ingredients like organic aloe, rice powder, and even coconut oil - it happens! If you believe you've reacted to any amazing ingredients in an Omiana product, please let us know. Remember - we accept back even gently used product for return or exchange within 30 days of purchase.

Organic oils can be perfectly fine - even nurturing - for the most reactive, sensitive skin. Organic oils can even still be non-comedogenic. Omiana uses light, breathable organic oils that do not clog pores or cause breakouts. These select oils harmonize with the skin and even help regulate sebum production by way of "training" layers of skin.

Oil in makeup and skincare is not inherently bad. Synthetic oils such as mineral oil and petrolatum and petrochemicals artificially clog skin and pores with a non-breathable barrier that clogs pores.

This is not to say that some people do not react to seemingly good oils or butters, such as coconut oil, shea butter, fruit wax, and the like. Our bodies and needs are incredibly dynamic, and what might impart moisture to one person might be a true irritant to another. We find some of our savvy supporters cannot tolerate coconut oil while another segment loves it. You and only you can truly learn to discern what your skin prefers vs. what it does not. Even allergy tests and experts can have flawed findings.

Ultramarine is used in only a few Omiana products to achieve a specific tone or undertone (purples, blues). To view products in a collection without ultramarines, just click 'no ultramarines' in the filter. Samples are available for a selection of Omiana products. Sign up to the Omiana newsletter to receive information about promotions and discounts including free samples. Each sample comes with approximately a tad of product. This lasts a few applications, on average, but individual rates of usage per application vary. The sample container will be partially filled. Please evaluate in natural light for your best assessment of each shade. Samples are final sales - no returns or exchanges.
